Second Sarah Morrell Block

This is my second completed block for the Sarah Morrell quilt. Please excuse the tile from the bathroom floor, which is showing through the background fabric. It's my first attempt at broderie perse. I used four different fabrics.

Right now I'm working on the large central block, and having a few issues. We will see if I can stitch it smoothly.

  1. Well, for the first time at broderie perse, you are really masterful. The way that you put the different pieces together really makes it look like it was all together to begin with! Really nice!

  2. Found you by way of the Inspired By Di Ford Quilts group on FB (I am slowly making my way through the Drayton Hall project and have "intentions" to tackle Ann's Legacy. ). Love your broderie perse - fabric choice is beautiful. Well done!!

  4. Thank you. I'm learning as I go. The spiral circle for the center block (that I'm working on now) is going to be a big lesson...

  5. Your Broderie Perse block is really lovely. I am making The Morrell quilt also. I decided to start my Broderie Perse journey by fusing the fabrics and machine appliqueing them down. I might do some by needle turn as I get going. I have looked at that center block and have been choosing some fabrics for it. I think I will hand piece mine. I am new at that too.
