Knitting A Sock

I am knitting-a-sock...
I have been doing this, it seems like weeks, but it hasn't been that long I guess. I've been reading as well.

Mostly, I've been hanging out with my amazing Grandsons. We had a BOYS ONLY weekend (except for Nana, of course). They went out for pizza. They went fishing, and only one of them fell in. They had an amazing water gun fight, with Otter pops after. They went to see a movie, with a ton of candy and slushies. They had a sleepover with one of the dogs, who only ate part of three socks. They had barbecues, with a lot of ketchup. Ice cream sundaes. They got new remote control Hexbugs. Hot dogs for lunch. Star Wars movies and video games.

One of them told me it was his favorite weekend ever. Better than Disneyland... I did my best buddy.

Okay. Now back to that sock.

Late Summer Heat

The first three photos are from Glacier National Park, and the second three from Yellowstone National Park. We saw two Grizzly bears in each park, herds of Bison and a lot of Elk.

Good morning. I've been home for just over a week. You know the drill. Watering, dusting, re-arranging. Of course, walking off all of the really bad-for-you food eaten while on vacation. We had a great time in Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park. We learned how to use all those buttons and things in the new fifth wheel, that we hadn't traveled with. Now we know how to do everything, and how to make reservations in RV parks. We didn't spend as much time as I would have liked hiking, but we still need to gain confidence in leaving the dogs in the RV. With the air conditioning running of course. I think I need a monitor or something.

Since I've been home, I finished the first block of the very bright, Feather and Flower quilt. A lot of stitches went into one block. It measures 38 x 38. One BIG block, and I have three to go. Three. To. Go. I am somehow unable to get the true colors to show up in photos.  It's bright. Maybe too bright, but I'll keep working on it.

I'll keep stitching away for as long as I can. I have been having a lot of pain in my hands and arms, so in June I had and appointment with a hand and arm surgeon. I have numb and tingling fingers and arms. It's very painful. He sent me for nerve conduction tests. The tests showed that I have Carpal Tunnel in my right wrist, and Cubbital Tunnel in my left elbow. All I know is that it hurts. The doctor who did the tests seemed to think that I will need surgery. I have an appointment with the surgeon at the end of the month.

And just to keep myself out of trouble, I have started a new pair of socks for Halloween. Sort of spooky right?
